2020 Lexus RC F
For 2020, Lexus has upgraded its RC F line to a better style, lighter weight, and greater output. The updated model retains its previous engine but has better suspension, stickier tires, and improved brakes. Further upgrades are found in the new limited-edition – RC F Track, which is even lighter and higher in performance.
Pushing performance to new extremes, the RC F now features the most powerful Lexus V8 to date, as well as a new Launch Control system for lightning-fast acceleration off the line. Not only is it lighter and more responsive than ever, the RC F also features bolder styling to reflect its racing DNA.
Trim Levels
New changes in the exterior include hoarded 3-element LED headlamps bordered by fused daytime running lights. You also get a new grille, tail lamps, and a re-contoured bumper.
The RC F offers seven color options based on specifications: Ultra White, Atomic Silver, Caviar, Infrared, Flare Yellow, Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0, and Matte Nebula Gray.
Engine
The RC F 2020 comes with a refined powertrain that results in quicker throttle response and overall improved output compared to the 2019 edition. Its revised 5.0-liter V-8 engine works without turbocharging and receives six added pound-feet of torque, and five added horsepower, raising total output to 395 pound-feet, and 472 horsepower.
Interior
The RC F has a fine build and cohesive design with a flawless finish and a wide variety of soft-touch materials on all major electronic devices. The seats can accommodate various body types and are comfortable for long-distance rides. The decrease in weight is higher in the Track edition, about 177 pounds. Among these lightweight upgrades are aluminum suspension mounts and components, a titanium exhaust, lighter carbon-fiber brace for the rear bulkhead, and lightweight alloy wheels. All these upgrades make the unsprung weight 48.5 pounds lighter. Additionally, in the Track Edition, you also get to enjoy a carbon-fiber roof and hood panel. You'll find this model high in performance as while still replete with on-road comfort: when driving, the RC F moves swiftly and responds compliantly without feeling mushy.
Other upgrades include 6-piston calipers with brake rotors of lighter Brembo carbon-ceramic, a firm rear wing, and BBS 19-inch forged alloy wheels to boost aerodynamic downforce. Inside the RC F Track are trimmed red leather upholstery with red carbon trim, and Alcantara accents on the dashboard and doors. You can get this exclusive edition in only two colors – Matte Nebula Gray and Ultra White.
Safety
Lexus's Safety System is featured as standard in both the RC F and Track models and features a pedestrian detection with a pre-collision system, steering assist with lane departure alert, intelligent high beams, and dynamic high-speed radar cruise control. You'll also find eight airbags and a rearview camera standard in all the RC F models. Additionally, Lexus offers an initial ten years of Lexus Enform Service Connect and Safety Connect.
