The Lexus IS is a sporty sedan designed for drivers who want a bold look with the performance to back it up. The IS 300
The IS 300 has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 241 horsepower. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes with rear-wheel drive. The 300 has 17-inch wheels, LED lighting all around, including the headlights, running lights, fog lights, and taillights, and heated side door mirrors. It also has a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, and premium vinyl upholstery. Technology features include a 7-inch display screen, voice command capabilities, Siri Eyes Free, satellite radio, and two USB ports.
The IS 300 AWD
The 300 AWD adds all-wheel drive along with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. This larger engine generates 260 horsepower and gets 236 pound-feet of torque. Along with more power, the 300 AWD gets heated front seats and larger 18-inch wheels.
The IS 350
The 350 comes with the 3.5-liter V-6 engine, but in this model, it generates 311 horsepower. Lexus also offers the 350 in the AWD drive version, and it comes with the same upgrades as the 300 AWD.
The F Sport Package
All IS trims give drivers the option to add the F Sport Package, which comes with a mesh grille, 18-inch wheels, wider front tires, a sportier suspension, and a different front bumper without fog lights. The package also allows drivers to upgrade to high-performance summer tires or all-season tires with high-friction brake pads. Inside, the F Sport Package adds front sport seats with extra side bolster support, heat and ventilation for the front seats, a black headliner, aluminum pedals, and a perforated leather trim.
The F Sport Package also comes with Sport S and Sport S+ drive modes. Sport S mode adjusts the steering response and provides faster gear changes, and the Sport S+ mode on the 350 tightens up the suspension. Both modes adjust the transmission’s shift points when going into and coming out of corners to sharpen the acceleration.
Safety
No matter which IS model you choose, it comes with anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect. This group of safety systems includes automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance call button, and stolen vehicle location.
All trims also come with adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, a lane-departure warning system, and intelligent high beam headlights. Available options include front and rear parking brakes, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.
