Hitting the links can be a great way to pass some time in the El Paso area. Whether you’re picking up some clubs for the first time or are a seasoned veteran, you’re sure to find an exciting course that’s the right difficulty for you to grow and test yourself. The next time you and some friends want to go golfing, be sure to check out some of these top area courses!
Anthony Country Club
This is a great course for people of all skill levels. While the narrow fairways may prove a challenge to inexperienced golfers, the rest of the course is fairly forgiving. Memberships are especially friendly if you have a family. Standard membership is $95 per month and gives you and your family full access to the course and access to the monthly tournaments. Junior memberships and out-of-town memberships are also available at discounted rates, but there are restrictions you have to meet.
The course is nine holes with two tee boxes on each hole, so even when you’re playing 18 holes, the course feels different than simply going around the nine holes twice. Anthony Country Club also has several other amenities including a clubhouse, club hall, and pool. You can buy a pool-only membership if you aren’t interested in golfing and only want to use the club’s pool.
Butterfield Trail Golf Club
Once you’re ready to take your golfing game to the next level, you’ll want to check out the Butterfield Trail Golf Club. This beautifully maintained course is an absolute pleasure to play. Greens fees vary by day of the week and time of day. There are also discounts for seniors, active military members, town residents, and county residents.
The course is beautiful from start to finish. It’s easy to access and the varying elevation at each hole makes playing the course a real treat. Sloping sand traps and expertly kept greens make for a picturesque afternoon on the golf course. The Butterfield Trail Golf Club has won several awards since it opened including from publishers such as Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Links Magazine, and Golfweek.
Lone Star Golf Club
The Lone Star Golf Club is not just another incredible golf course worth checking out in the El Paso area – this public course is as lush and green as they come. The groundskeepers are really on their game each and every day to keep the course looking as good as it does. It’s an 18-hole course spanning 6,700 hundred yards, so there’s plenty of opportunity to tee off with your longest drivers.
After you’ve finished playing a round, be sure to have some lunch or dinner at the on-site restaurant. It features plenty of tasty menu items such as omelets, queso, burritos, sandwiches, and more.
The next time you’re looking to brush up on your golf game, be sure to make a tee time for Anthony Country Club, Butterfield Trail Golf Course, or Lone Star Golf Club. Each offers unique sights and a great course to play golf at; who knows, one of them may become your new favorite!
