The 2019 Lexus UX is a brand-new model bringing the luxury of Lexus sedans to a compact SUV. The UX is offered in base, F-Sport, and Luxury trim levels, and as the gas-driven UX 200 or hybrid UX 250h. Each model surrounds you with high-quality materials and the Lexus trademark craftsmanship.
Exterior Styling
Striking design makes the UX stand out from the crowd. The bold grille is flanked by bi-LED headlamps with distinctive integrated daytime running lights. The dramatic lines of the profile lead back into the aerodynamic LED taillights with their seamless ribbon of light. Base models offer chrome trim, fog lamps, heated power mirrors with turn signals, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The F-Sport trim features LED fog lights and cornering lights, split-spoke wheels, and unique badging and trim. Luxury models add to the base trim with a power moonroof, power hands-free liftgate, approach lighting, and automatic dimming mirrors with automatic reverse tilt-down. Optional for all trims are distinctive triple-beam LED headlamps with auto-leveling.
Power and Performance
The UX 200 is powered by a 2.0-liter engine delivering 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. It’s paired with a 10-speed direct-shift continuously variable transmission with a manual first gear for confident acceleration. The UX 200 will return up to 33 mpg for combined city/highway driving.
In the UX 250h hybrid, the engine is linked to a powerful battery providing total system power of 181 horsepower. With the AWD system, 80% of the power can be transferred to the rear wheels when extra traction is needed. The hybrid returns up to 39 combined mpg.
Luxury Interior
The contemporary cabin envelops you and combined with the intuitively angled controls, makes you feel at one with the car. NuLuxe faux leather upholstery is standard, as are power front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, dual-zone climate control, and push-button start.
The Lexus multimedia system offers Bluetooth, voice activation, Apple CarPlay, 4G Wi-Fi, a 7-inch touch screen, smartphone app-based navigation, Amazon Alexa, a six-speaker sound system with satellite and HD radio, and four USB ports.
The F-Sport trim features a unique interior with sports seats, aluminum pedals, a perforated leather steering wheel, paddle shifters, and race-inspired digital instrumentation. Luxury models offer cooled and heated front seats, memory function for the driving seat and door mirrors, sound-canceling glass, a 10.3-inch touch screen with split-screen display, integrated navigation, and an eight-speaker audio system.
Driver Assistance Features
Safe handling is aided by vehicle stability control and electronic traction control, while assured stopping is provided by four-wheel ABS disc brakes and smart stop technology.
The Lexus Safety System is standard and includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, and road sign assist.
Luxury models add blind-spot monitoring and rain-sensing wipers. Optional on all models is intuitive parking assist with automatic braking and rear cross-traffic braking.
